Radiation Therapy Program
Radiation Physicians, Residents, Medical Radiation Physicists, Radiologists,
Oncology Nurses, Dosimetrists, and Radiation Therapists serve as the primary
didactic and clinical instructors for the program.
The 12 month School for the Radiation Therapist begins approximately
the last week in August. The curriculum consists of approximately 350 hours didactic
courses and 1100 hours clinical experience. At present, no academic credit
is granted for the courses taught at our institution.
All students are expected to be in the Department of Radiation
Oncology Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am and
4:00pm. Some variation in
the hours may occur throughout the year to accommodate the didactic and clinical
teaching. A two week vacation/sick/injury leave is permitted during the
program in addition to recognized National holidays.
Program Costs
The tuition for the program is $3,000. A non-refundable deposit of $100
is required upon acceptance. The remaining $2,900 is due the first week
of the school term.
Admission Requirements
A candidate must qualify by:
Graduation from a JRCERT accredited program in Radiography. All applications
should be submitted on the provided forms along with high school and School of
Radiography transcripts. College and/or vocational school transcripts must
be provided, if attended. All data must be submitted by May 1st of the
year in which the appointment is sought and the cut off date for all interviews
will be May 10th. A personal interview is mandatory, however, at the discretion
of the Program Director, an alternate interview option may be necessary due to
extenuating circumstances.

health and technical standards must be suitable to the requirements of a Radiation
